Saving China's finless porpoise from the brink of extinction

There are 1,200 Yangtze finless river porpoises left in the wild in China. The last river dolphin died in 2002 and the last paddle fish disappeared. A 10-year-long ban on fishing in the region is helping to save them. The construction of the Three Gorges Dam has affected local wildlife along the river.

Cheetah cubs destined for the illegal trade in exotic wildlife rescued in Somaliland

There are ten cheetah cubs in Somaliland, a breakaway region of Somalia. They are in a group of 109 others in similar operations. One of the cubs was arrested during a Aug 14 in the northern Sallahley District. The cheetahs have been to a number of places.
