Meta Platforms has entered into an agreement with Noon Energy to reserve energy storage capacity equivalent to 100GW-hours for its data centres. The collaboration will launch with a 25MW/2.5GWh project, which is expected to conclude by 2028. After the initial phase, the companies expect to proceed with a larger 1GW/100GWh supply arrangement.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is providing a €70m loan to support a 450MW solar photovoltaic park and a 250MW/1GW-hour battery energy storage system in north-eastern Hungary. The project is expected to generate around 448GWh of renewable electricity.
