Meta Platforms has entered into an agreement with Noon Energy to reserve energy storage capacity equivalent to 100GW-hours for its data centres. The collaboration will launch with a 25MW/2.5GWh project, which is expected to conclude by 2028. After the initial phase, the companies expect to proceed with a larger 1GW/100GWh supply arrangement.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is providing a €70m loan to support a 450MW solar photovoltaic park and a 250MW/1GW-hour battery energy storage system in north-eastern Hungary. The project is expected to generate around 448GWh of renewable electricity.
Quattro set from Kleines Kraftwerk has a 1,920 Wp Quattro XL balcony power plant. It takes advantage of the law that has been in force since 2024 (Solar Package I). The integrated memory ensures that excess electricity is not lost, but is stored specifically for evening hours or cloudy days. All the necessary cables, including 4x3m MC4 extension cables worth over 60 euros are included in the complete set.
Chinese battery cell manufacturers are poised to benefit from the US-Israeli war in Iran, according to Fitch Ratings. The global lithium-ion battery market expanded by more than 20 per cent to exceed US$150 billion last year, reflecting the sector's growing importance in automotive, AI and other strategic sectors.
IEEE Spectrum and Wiley are proud to bring you this white paper, sponsored by WSP. It offers a grounded, accessible look at how an Interregional Transmission Overlay could reshape planning assumptions and unlock new options for the decade ahead. It invites engineers, planners, utilities, and policymakers to step back and examine what a more interconnected grid could enable.
The need for remote monitoring technology is growing, driven by legislative, environmental and operational forces. Direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) provide reliable, continuous power and can be used either as a primary power source or as backup power when combined with micro-renewables. DMFCs are efficient, reliable, low-maintenance and low-emission.
