Lebanon's health ministry says 12 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the country's south on Wednesday. The southern border town of Kfarshuba said a municipal councillor and employee were released. Israel's army said it had "apprehended" two people who approached its soldiers. Neither Israel nor Hezbollah has observed an April ceasefire in Lebanon. Hezbollah rejected last week's conditional truce deal. Hezbollah drew Lebanon into the Middle East war on March 2.

An IDF soldier was moderately injured by an explosive drone launched by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. Israel has struggled to fend off attacks on troops in southern and northern Israel by Hezbollah's first-person view drones.

Hezbollah claims to have shot down an Israeli military drone over eastern Lebanon. The Heron 1 drone was hit by a missile in the Nahle area in the Bekaa Valley. Hezbollah has targeted Israeli army vehicles and troop concentrations in southern Lebanon with drones and missiles in response to Israeli ceasefire violations and ongoing assaults.
