The Supreme Court sided with the maker of Roundup weedkiller in a ruling expected to block thousands of lawsuits alleging it failed to warn people the product could cause cancer. The high court, in a 7-2 ruling, held that Roundup cannot be sued in state courts for failure to warn because federal regulators have found a cancer link unlikely and do not require a warning label. Environmental groups and lawyers representing people who believe they were harmed by Roundup denounced the ruling.

In the 19th century, cancer was a medical rarity in the United States. Since 1950, the incidence of cancer in the U.S. had increased to about 130 to 160 cases per 100,000 people, and by 1975 it had reached 400. The rise has been closely related to changes in diet, especially the increase in linoleic acid (LA) intake. LA has been associated with altered cell membrane structure, which may increase susceptibility to oxidation, chronic inflammation, and immune stress. Pentadecanoic acid and choline help stabilize membranes, support mitochondrial and immune function, and counteract LA-driven damage.
Sable Offshore scored a rare win over environmental activists in California. The Air Pollution Control Districtâs quasi-judicial hearing examiner Terrence Dressler granted the oil company a five-day variance allowing Platform Heritage to exceed the amount of air pollution permitted under its operating permit. Environmental groups had spent the past two years fighting Sable's return to offshore oil production. Platform Heritage, one of three offshore platforms Sable bought from Exxon two years ago, resumed operations in March after sitting idle for nine years following the 2015 Refugio pipeline spill.
