Israel's government has approved more than 1 billion shekels ($334 million) to build and upgrade roads connecting illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank. The UN considers the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, to be occupied Palestinian territory. Since October 8, 2023, Israel has waged a genocide in the Gaza Strip that has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians.

At least five Palestinians have been killed in attacks across the besieged Gaza Strip on Thursday. Israel and Hamas signed a US-backed agreement to end the war in October. Attacks continue in violation of the agreement with more than 1,100 Palestinians killed since then. Israel's coalition government has prevented reconstruction work in Gaza despite the "ceasefire".

West Bank: Israeli settler hits Palestinian child with car while playing in Hebron

A six-year-old Palestinian boy was hit by a car driven by an Israeli settler in the southern West Bank city of Hebron. Mukhlis Ammar Al Slaimeh said the settler deliberately drove into his son while he was playing with other children near the Israeli military Checkpoint 160. The boy suffered bruising to his face and was taken to hospital, where he is undergoing medical examinations.

Israeli security assessment: Hamas retains most of its military strength despite war

Hamas's armed wing has 25,000 fighters despite more than two years of war in the Gaza Strip. About 2,500 of those fighters belong to Hamas's elite Nukhba unit. Israeli security agencies have observed an increase in executions carried out by Hamas against people accused of opposing the movement or collaborating with Israel.
